As has become expected, the Network She Women Mean Business Conference delivered the unexpected. Blatantly plagiarising the Greatest Show Man this year’s conference host Myfannwy Twanky Barnum took to the stage and delivered a great day.

Over 120 local business women, women in business and 6th form girls from Ysgol Aberconwy and Ysgol Eirias experienced a conference like no other. In addition to the motivational, inspiring and honest presentations from North Wales based Steph Jeavons who motorcycled solo across seven continents and Sharon Latham, first female Premiership photographer with Manchester City, the delegates also learnt Baby Shark and the art of the Floss

The Women Mean Business Conference, held at Venue Cymru amd Friday 21st September aimed to help women stay focused, develop and execute a business plan, instill self-belief and confidence in a positive, empowering, supportive environment, while at the same time having fun

Conference organiser and founder of Network She Ruth Lloyd-Williams said “We want to help women face their business barriers head on in a safe and informal environment. By tackling them together at this unique conference we want to help women grow their businesses and their profile, ensuring they leave with a bank of new contacts and a support network to help them “Forge the Future” by being the best that they can be.”

The Women Mean Business Conference also featured an interactive exhibition offering over 35 professional business services and personal development resources, all specially selected to help, offering practical advice and support, with a little bit of retail thrown in for good measure

Sharon Latham

Sharon Latham. Founder and CEO of the Selfie Guide with her business partner, former England number one goal keeper Joe Hart. Sharon in also a professional photographer and was the senior first team club photographer at Manchester City for eight years. She has recently returned from touring the USA with Noel Gallagher and his band Low Flying Birds 

Sue Tonks 

Sue Tonks is an acclaimed International Key Note Speaker. Her Key Note Presentation, ”Rollercoasters, Roundabouts and Roulette” has thrilled audiences with its humour, realism and honesty. Sue’s unmistakable style gave the delegates a practical insight into how they can create change intheir business.

Helen Williams

Helen Williams has worked for Merseyside Police for 10 years. She joined the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (Titan) in May 2014 as Protect Officer. She works alongside officers in the regional cyber-crime unit who investigate malware, network intrusion and denial of service attacks

Her role is to help businesses and the community in the North West, by providing information about the latest cyber threats, advice on how to protect your data, information and online assets and free resources to help you stay safe online. Helen gave everyone an insight in to just how easy it is to give your data away

 

Steph Jeavons

Just back from an epic journey. Steph Jeavons has ridden across the Atlas Mountains and in the Sahara five times. She has crossed the US coast-to-coast four times, got muddy in Wales with names like John McGuinness and, just once, nearly punched Carl Fogarty in the face! Steph also worked with Nick Sanders setting up his expedition centre in Machynlleth.

She left all this excitement behind to pursue her dream of riding her motorcycle to all seven continents setting off from the Ace Café London in 2014 – solo- arriving home with a tale to tell in March of this year
