LEADING lights in sport will headline a landmark week of events celebrating entrepreneurial women – the first of its kind in the UK.
The inaugural Women in Business Week will run over five days from March 5 at venues across Conwy county.
Hosted by Network She, guest speakers include rally driver Jade Paveley, football referee Sarah MacManus, and Sharon Latham, an award-winning photographer currently touring with Noel Gallagher.
Founder Ruth Lloyd-Williams said there will be workshops, team-building, mentorship, networking and more.
The packed programme also features the launch of the fourth Women Mean Business Conference, which this year takes on a “great show” theme when it returns on September 21.
“As we are celebrating 10 years of Network She’s International Women’s Day Awards on March 9 – the day after International Women’s Day – we wanted to do something a little different in 2018,” said Ruth, from Llandudno.
“This will be the first week of events focused solely on supporting women in business, motivating them to grow their companies and their own profiles, and to take the right steps in collaborating with new partners.
“We have members from all over the UK who will be in attendance, and together we are growing – it’s an exciting time to be in business, and a part of Network She.”
Ruth added that a key theme will be marking the achievements of females in all sectors and leading roles, challenging stereotypes and bias.
Motivational Monday kicks off proceedings, a full day of interaction and motivation forging positive visibility of women in business as they share what inspires them to make a difference.
Utilising Facebook, Network She will introduce attendees to a host of business women, industry leaders, SMEs, sole traders and start-ups.
Team Building Tuesday brings an exclusive invite to the Boadicea Boardroom lunch and an afternoon meeting for women who really do mean business, while Wednesday is the celebration of women in sport.
On that night, Jade, Sarah and Sharon – formerly official team photographer at Manchester City – will give those in attendance an insight in to their exciting and inspiring lives in the male dominated arenas of motorsport and football.
Network She will also be raising funds to support women’s and girl’s teams and individuals in sport.
Thursday’s Meet and Tweet will highlight the value of social media to networking and collaboration between female-led companies and entrepreneurs all over the world to mark International Women’s Day.
The week culminates in a celebratory lunch to celebrate a decade of the awards.
“We are excited to be bringing such a varied programme of events to the region at a time when more and more women are launching businesses and supporting one another,” said Ruth.
“Our guest speakers are testament to that, having succeeded in traditionally male-dominated industries and made strides on the global stage. There is something for everyone, so we hope to see you there.”
